One of my duties was to collect baby dolls. I travelled over 100 miles picking up and dropping off loaner dolls at a dozen generous daycares and thrift stores in SLO County. During the journey I came across a lady who openly shared her life struggles of getting pregnant at 14 and choosing to keep the baby. She is blessed as a result, now her child is in his twenties and yet she is still pro-choice. She was still happy to let us borrow 44 dolls, the biggest single loan of dolls we got for the parade. As I returned the dolls, she asked how the parade went with genuine interest and thanked me for letting her be a part. Before the parade even started, God gave me a specific face to pray for who touches the lives of many through her daycare. At this point I felt if no other reason came about for this float, it was to speak to her and hear her story.
Next came time to decorate the float and my husband spent time with my 3 year old a t home so I had the opportunity to focus. Well focus I did, on God! I'm an event planner and it's isually all about the scheduling and function for me, but I was still before God before getting with the group to decorate the night before and the morning before the parade. No matter what happened I had great confidence God was before us and for us and would hault us if something were not in His will.
Our hearts are pure because of Him, our ways are right because of Him and our light shined because of Him, Glory to God in the highest! I am honored to have served our Lord Jesus Christ in a bery public setting such as this.
